Just when I thought they had it all....I come across this Whale Mobile!!



It is the perfect touch for a child's room (or whatever life stage deems this necessary, no judgements). The mobile is homemade and includes narwhals, blue whales, humpback whales and sperm whales...whomever has this hanging above their bed is going to just love the custom designed, made to order mobile and undoubtedly become a whale lover if they are willing or not.

Humpbacks Make An Early Appearance In SoCal.

If I was only there to take advantage :(

According to Outdoors, action and adventure blog, the Humpback whales have arrived about a month early this year (usually expected in May). The Southern California residents and visitors should consider themselves quite lucky - while wrapping up the gray whale migration North, people are potentially able to see both the gray and humpback whales in action.



Humpback whales are among the most showy whales and make for remarkable sightings more often than not. In fact, I have had my best whale watches while in the company of these guys. In fact, yours truly took the pictures within this very post last year - There were so many whales, I could not even eat a snack (an occurrence that rarely happens for me).



And if these two types of whales are just not quite enough, don't you worry - perhaps you are familiar with the blue whale...? Oh, just the largest animal to have ever lived is coming soon to the SoCal area very soon (early June). I think a whale watching trip is in store for you and your 100 closest friends.

As I know everyone loves crazy whale videos, according to MSNBC, the Tsunami Whale Video: It is a Facebook Scam - Facebook Users Are Warned Not To Click The Link.

"Yet another clickjacking scam is replicating like crazy on Facebook, in this case inviting users to view a video of a whale "smashed into a building" during the March 11 tsunami in Japan.

According to the Internet security website Sophos.com, clicking on one of these links takes the user to a page that appears to contain a video, but if you try to play it you're prompted to fill out an online survey instead, while a hidden script tells all your Facebook friends that you've "liked" the nonexistent video. Then they click on the link, the same thing happens to them, then their friends click on the link, and so on. That's why it's called a "clickjacking" or "likejacking" scam. The perpetrators make money by redirecting traffic to the survey site."

We can thank Marco Queral for these extrodinary pictures. Queral is a diver and underwater photographer that documents his own courageous interaction with enormous humpback whales (among many other types of sea life) in the South Pacific.

These unbelievable pictures were taken near the Hawaiian Islands last year by Queral who says that 'the personalities of humpback whales are very particular and they are the ones that decide if you are going to get good photos or not' adding 'the whales are very intelligent and sometimes they will be in a mood to let you photograph them, and sometimes they will not'.



Queral admits that there are numerous tricks he uses to get the attention of whales and other animals he photographs, however feels that whales are gentle and peaceful creatures.
