Those who know me are well aware of my slight obsession with whales…

Think what you may, but throughout my life (all 25 years of them oddly enough), I have been an active whale watcher and enthusiast, dedicating much of myself, time, and interest to whales. I rise at 5am on Saturday to sit on a cliff with binoculars and count grey whales as they pass for the CA grey whale census which may seem crazy to the normal person, but for me…is the highlight of the week. You may find yourself asking ‘why?’ – I sometimes do too, but it is just because I love them and they make me happy. Life is about being happy, and my vice just happens to be a giant creature that lives in water. To each their own.

Don’t worry, my whale-related activities do not stop there! I am on the board of the American Cetacean Society (cetacean = whales, dolphins and porpoises) and am a Certified Whale Naturalist, meaning I narrate whale watching boats that go out along the LA coast.

A friend mentioned that I start a blog about everything and anything whale related, which seemed to be the perfect idea because my life, clothes and apartment are filled and decorated with this crazy animal – OK, but not in the weird obsession, oh my god – this person is crazy kind of way…but rather with taste (I think…).
