Cnn.com published the article 'Endangered Whales Gather in Unprecedented Numbers'- Provincetown, MA has recently unveiled the largest concentration of endangered right whales ever spotted in one location. This grouping has recently allowed people to study these unique whales like never before. woot. woot. Love that these whales are around to be studied!!
'Scientists believe that there are only 450 right whales in the world but say the numbers have been slowly recovering since commercial whaling of the species was banned more than 70 years ago.
The more than 100 whales counted in the bay this month is the largest number recorded in one place, according to the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown, Massachusetts.'
If you are in the Boston area, I strongly suggest you take a ride aboard the Dolphin Fleet Whale Watching boat to see these endangered right whales in all their glory - this was the boat my parents always took me on when I was little, however, I have yet to see a right whale...which means I will be paying the Dolphin Fleet a visit very soon.
